Goodwin Thompson Video have re-issued their 1989 video film tour of

THE VERDUN BATTLEFIELDS

SPECIAL OFFER ON VERDUN TAPES - 50% discount - ONLY £5.00 inc. PPS !!!!!

Using a domestic Sony Camcorder we travelled all over the old Verdun battlefield. We started in the north, at the headquarters of Colonel Driant, in the area that took the brunt of the first German assault in February 1916. We then moved south covering all the various stages of the battle such as:

  • Destroyed village of Louvemont
  • Mort Homme (left bank of the River Meuse)
  • Cote 304 (left bank)
  • Fort de Douaumont
  • Fort de Vaux
  • Tunnel de Tavannes
  • Ouvrage de Froidterre
  • Fleury (destroyed village and modern museum)
  • City of Verdun and underground fortifications
  • Fort de Souville
  • Cimitiere National and Ossuaire

We also filmed in the sector fought over by the Americans, in 1918, and show in detail their memorial at the Butte de Montfaucon.

The film concludes at Chateau Thierry, west of Verdun, but in an area fought over by the Americans in the closing phase of the war. It shows the imposing memorial on the hillside overlooking the old battlegrounds.

This is a comprehensive tour and is quite unique.

PRICED AT ONLY £5.00 (yes FIVE pounds) IT IS A VALUABLE PART OF ANY WW1 LIBRARY
